Get Started with our library collection online. You can read eBooks and listen to eAudio Books for Free!

We have eBooks and Audiobooks available for checkout online.  This can be done with four different apps:

  • Libby - The new app that connects you to our Idaho Digital Consortium Overdrive Collection.   This is also available on a computer or device. (As of May 2023, the Overdrive App was discontinued, and Libby replaced the Overdrive App.)
  •  SORA - This app is available for our brick-and-mortar Oneida County School students. This app has so many great features for our students, including Dixlesia screens for easier reading.
  • IDEA - A book collection at the State Library for Juvenile and Young Adult Reading. This library can be connected to your Overdrive, Libby & SORA accounts.
  • Destiny Discover - Oneida County Library Collection has limited eBooks and Audiobooks for online checkout. You can access these through the online card catalog or through the "Destiny App" on Android or IOS (Apple). Sign in with your username and password and a list of eBooks we have in our catalog will appear. You can then check out any of the emails in our local catalog.

We hope you will take advantage of the free online eBooks and eAudio Books we provide through the Overdrive Service (Libby App), SORA (for students only), IDEA, and our local collection.  Below are the instructions to get online and start reading. The following are the instructions for downloading the Libby app on your device. You can also access your ebooks and audiobooks from the computer at Libby allows you to read books through your Kindle, also.  There is a  pamphlet available at the library for step-by-step instructions both in the library and on the Oneida County Library website, but if you need more personalized help, drop into the library, and one of the library staff will help you sign up and get reading and listening on this service.

There are also over 400 magazines and periodical subscriptions on the Overdrive eCollection. These can be checked out on the Libby App anytime. You can check out as many as you want when you want.
